- Adapter
- A deliberately narrow application layer that translates one source’s requests and responses into your internal contract.
- Asset identifier
- A network-aware identity for an asset. Keep display names and symbols separate from the identifier your application uses.
- Block reference
- The context used to ask about or describe a particular blockchain state. Exact formats and meanings are network-specific.
- Commitment policy
- In a Solana application, the explicit observation setting chosen for relevant reads. Review the source’s documentation rather than choosing by guesswork.
- Exact quantity
- A representation that preserves the amount’s required precision before presentation rounding or other formatting.
- Fixture
- A saved or deliberately constructed test input used to check parsing, error handling, and user-visible states.
- Index
- A queryable dataset maintained from source observations, with a defined coverage range and recovery process.
- JSON-RPC
- A method-oriented request and response convention. It does not make the data models of different blockchains identical.
- Outpoint
- The transaction identifier and output index that identify a particular Bitcoin output.
- Reconciliation
- A process that checks an application’s stored data against the selected source evidence and resolves gaps or corrections.
- Retry budget
- A limit on attempts and elapsed time for a logical operation. It prevents automatic recovery from continuing indefinitely.
- Source context
- The network, observation reference, retrieval time, and other evidence needed to interpret a result accurately.
- Stale observation
- A previously obtained value that no longer satisfies the application’s current freshness policy.
- Transport
- The communication layer used to carry messages. Keep it distinct from the request format and the application data model.
- UTXO
- An unspent transaction output in Bitcoin’s output-based model. A tracked output is not automatically a complete wallet inventory.
- Wallet provider
- An integration interface through which an application requests wallet interactions. Connection and signing should remain separate, explicit steps.
