Quickstart

One network. One request. A solid start.

Use a read-only example in your own environment, with a provider you choose and credentials you control.

Your first milestone: one successful read

Choose the network and one question you want to answer. The downloadable helper uses a narrow, read-only method for each network: chain identity for Ethereum, an observed slot for Solana, and blockchain information for Bitcoin.

Choose your network

Read the network guide and confirm which environment your own node or provider serves.

Configure an endpoint locally

Set the endpoint and any authorization in environment variables. Do not publish private credentials in HTML, screenshots, or repository files.

Run one read and inspect the response

The helper validates transport status and RPC errors, then prints a result. It does not connect a wallet or sign anything.

Test a failure before you expand

Try missing configuration and an unreachable endpoint. Confirm that the process exits with a clear error instead of fabricating a result.

Local configuration is requiredInstall a maintained Node.js release with native fetch support. Set RPC_URL to your chosen endpoint. The placeholder below is intentionally not an operational service address.
export RPC_URL="YOUR_HTTPS_RPC_ENDPOINT"
export NETWORK="ethereum"
node rpc-read.mjs
Download rpc-read.mjs

Know the boundary

The browser widgets on this website only change the displayed request text. The downloaded file runs only when you execute it yourself, with your own configuration. Your provider’s authorization, limits, and terms still apply.

Pick the next guide

Continue with Ethereum, Solana, or Bitcoin. Read the retry policy guide before adding automatic retries to the helper.
